I gather that TrueSunc Desktop is a progression from SK99,
but does it still have the limitation on the Task dates?

Can anyone tell me any other differences between SK99 and
TrueSunc Desktop. (I understand the latter will have support for more recent devices, including USB - I'm more interested in the PIM part of the software).

Thanks in advance,
Martin.

MEdgar, I used Truesync Desktop for a while, and before that used SK 95, 98, 99, as I understand it the Truesync Desktop was stripped DOWN in features to make it a smaller footprint for use on the Motorola piggyback startek cell phone deal etc, it's only real "addition" as the sync'ing aspect, color options etc etc were stripped down, I'm no expert on the internals of the program but I'd be very very surprised if Truesync Desktop was a "fixed version" in any regard (re: what we today know to be problems with calendar items forwarding etc).

Most folks have concluded that Sidekick '98 was basically the high point of the program re: useful features and options etc, even '99 just had token additions for the coming "internet era", calendar was not addressed...

I bought 2 Rex's (which the Truesync software was bundled with), got them during the "closing out" phase for pretty cheap, the sync aspects "worked" but the overall platform wasn't useful enough to me to keep the Rex in use, eventually I just fell back to using SK98 (on Win98 and then moving a few years ago to XP).

Fortunately, the database files didn't notice a thing through all of this (from '95 on forward to today), nice being able to use the same datafiles, easy to make dup backups etc, sheesh, "long live Sidekick".... Happy New Year... SK 98 with confetti LOL...

Frank,

Thanks for the info.

Will still be sticking with SK98 then...

Happy New Year to you, too, and to all members of the Forum.

Martin.
