I have a FrontPage site search installed but I need to modify it. The result will only show one or none in the result. I want to bypass the one to lead to the page directly and if none I need it to use a default page. Any suggestions or script to do this would be really helpful.

thanks

You might want to check out the FrontLook Site Search Addin for FrontPage. It's really easy to use and very easy to customize, as well as configure as far as what pages to show in search results. I use it on my sites and have a link to it on my site on the homepage; right side of the page is the link. You can also test how the search works on my site too.

Thanks I will look into your suggestion. I'm hoping that it will solve my problem. User input zipcode then to directly to that page without a listing of all found and if none found to a default page. Thanks again.

Hmm... after reading this again, I'm thinking that you might be better off with an ASP solution; rather than a site search. A Site search is only going to pull up links to pages that match the search criteria. A database result or ASP script sounds like it would be a better option. For example, instead of a search per se - you could offer a drop down menu of zip codes. User selects a zip code from the menu and the page specific to that zip code would display. The drop down menu could be populated by the database.

ASP and the FrontPage DRW functions depend on your hosting service having support for ASP though, like a windows server as opposed to a UNIX server. You could get started looking into DRW stuff with the few tutorials I have on this page:
but be sure to check out the link under "external tutorials" on that page to spiderwebwoman.com because that site has a very nice selection of tips and tutorials specifically regarding the FP DRW and DIW.

Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. I guess the boss has decided to do it in a different way.
