Hi all,

I've just had our site redesigned to make room for new services and looking for any and all feedback. [smile]

I'm aware of a few small things (mainly design problems during the signup process) and these are being worked on.

Thanks in advance,

Wullie

Looks pretty slick, Wullie. Only comment I'd make from a very quick glance is that if you want that "Live chat by Boldchat" link in the title area to be read, you need to give it a different colour to the background. But then it seems rather out of place up there anyway.

Hi Chris,

Thanks, but I don't follow you.

The chat image is a already a different colour than the background. Could you explain please?

Looks nice Wullie.
I liked the chat thing so much I did a test install of my own.
That's a neat feature.

I did have some comments after we spoke last night, but I have forgotten what they were now! I will take another look later.

Very, very nice job though.

Great job on the site. Haven't gone completely through everything yet, but what I've seen so far is clean and fresh and easy to understand.

Thanks guys.

Clive, what problem did you have with the currency convertor? Everything is done server-side (except an image map) so the browser should not matter. This has previously been tested in Firefox and I just tested it again without any problems.

Also, the site should validate as well. There will be a page or 2 that doesn't but all of the main pages should.

Thanks again.

Thanks mate.

Do you have cookies disabled in Firefox? That's the only reason I can think of that would cause this.

Hope this helps

Thanks mate,

I'm going to work in a way that stops cookies being required for the currency to work, but it means reworking some of the background coding so will take time.

Thanks again everyone. [smile]

You might also want to consider VOIP. You could have a US number as well as a UK number. It would not cost you anything more and it would be a free call for US residents on a nationwide calling plan. I have just installed VOIP and it works great and is way cheaper than regular phone service... Distance is not an issue.

Clive,

If you get a spare minute, can you please try with Firefox to see if it works with your cookies disabled?

Regarding the VOIP, this is something that would be useful if we had phone support, but at present the number is simply a status line, we have other methods for customers in countries other than the UK.

Clive,

Can you check that the URL is still test. and not www. when it doesn't work. There should be no reason for this not to work, however you may be getting redirected to the live site when you click some links.

Hi Clive,

[ignore][/ignore] is the live site and the coding has not been modified on that to overcome the cookie issue.

On the code has been modified so that cookies should not be required. However, some of the site may still link directly to so when you say it is not working you may have been redirected back to this site. The address bar will say either way.

Hope this clears any confusion.

At the top of the screen, above the flags of the world, there's a link saying "Chat to us live". It's dark blue (in firefox anyway) on top of an image that's also mainly dark blue.

STOP PRESS

Just taken a look in IE, and the link in question is a broken image. FF just puts normal text in, using the alt attribute, if the image is broken. you might consider adding a CSS rule of
Code:
.chat a { color: white }
to cover this behaviour.
