Hi!

We are in the process of designing a new Windows 2003 Active Directory environment, and have met a problem :

Our users can access two different sites. These sites have different servers available. So we need the users home directory to be dependent on with site the user logs on.

Site 1 :
user should have homedirectory :
\\site1fileserver\users\username

Site 2:
user should have homedirectory :
\\site2fileserver\users\username

Any good ideas?

It looks to me like you have two options:
1) Place all users home directories on a single file server and have them accessed locally when in site1 and over the WAN when in site2.
2) Look into DFS

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)

That is realy no option for me. The sites are not geographicaly apart, they are under different security rules. They can not and should not access the same files/home folders in the two sites.

Use a bit of vbs in your logon script to query what site the user is logging on from and map a drive via script from that.

Or alternately make two gpo's and bind them at the site level using the logon script objects to maps the drive

I can map the drive, but the would still be the same HOMESHARE, and things wond function correctly, I think...
