I'm using WSS v3. I am having a problem where a site is being deleted every night. This site has been up and running for a couple of months with no problem. The web application and site collection configuration are still there. If I look at the Content Database, it says 0 for the Current Number of Sites. I restore the Sharepoint config and the SQL database and the next night the same thing happens. Seems to be happening somewhere between 11pm and 7am.

I would check and make sure the feature that deletes un-used web sites is not turned on.
Also I would check the logs and see what is going on.

I disabled the auto-delete functionality today, so we'll see what happens tonight. My understanding is the site administrator should receive an email prior to this happening. I am listed as the admin, but never received an email. I have looked through the logs, but do not see anything related. Any idea which log would contain information regarding when and why the site was deleted?
