Hi,

Because I'm at a loose end for a few minutes and out of some kind of morbid desire to have my work ripped to shreds I wonder if you would like to comment on my latest site.

Target Marketing Communications

Content wise it's pretty much as the people in charge want it. Not too worried about Search Engine Visibility, though I've tried to make it friendly.

Hi Foamcow.

Usually, I'm not a big fan of the whole flash dealy. There are exceptions to my madness, and your site is one of them. I think in this case it adds a creative professionalism to the site, and still allows the user to take action if he/she doesn't feel like waiting for the phone to finish drawing.

Since you're asking for constructive criticism, the only suggestion I'd make is to get your navigation to stand out a little bit more. I like the simplicity of it, but maybe a dark blue font instead of the same black text as the rest of the site.

Other than that, very nice work :)

God damn people and thier good websites.
Excellent site foamcow, wish mine looked as nice!
Not so keen on what the site does "direct marketing i.e. telesales and cold calling !" evil!
The site looks VERY nice on IE and Firefox both at 1024X768 & 800 X 600.
The pure simplicity of the pages is really impressive, so round of applause due!

No cold calling or telemarketing.
Direct Marketing in the sense of physical mailings. Junk mail if you will, but not junk in the sense that it's carefully targetted. Alot of time, energy and money goes into making sure we are hitting the right people for our clients. Our response figures show that we are doing it right.
We also like to do something a bit special.

Perhaps I should speak to "the bosses" and point out that we should distinguish ourselves from the cold call, telesales market. Although the sort of people we look to work with would understand that anyway.

An ActiveX control on this page is not safe.
bla bla bla bla bla....
The page may not display as intended."

What's the function??! ( :) )

My pathetic attempts at learning HTML can be laughed at here:

Actually there is some JavaScript to generate the headings using a server side script. I notice that for some reason it's started inserting some JavaScript into the code even though it's linked. Looks like there is some kind of error happening, though everything appears to be fine.

After I read this thread I looked at the source in my browser....
I saw some code that I didn't recognise.
Code:
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--

function SymError()
{
  return true;
}

window.onerror = SymError;

var SymRealWinOpen = window.open;

function SymWinOpen(url, name, attributes)
{
  return (new Object());
}

window.open = SymWinOpen;

//-->
</script>

Now I didn't put that in. It's not in the Javascript functions I am using.

After fiddling around for a short time, I looked up symError() on google and discovered that it's being put in by my firewall!
Norton Internet Security (bless it) puts the code in. If I turn the firewall off, then the code doesn't appear!

If you are really looking for picky --

In the first page, I did not immediately see that the titles ("Who We Are", "What We Do", etc.) were links. Not sure if you want to change it, or how, but you did ask.

Very nice site though.

bottom nav gets cut off on who-we-do-it-for.php

I would like to see the design stay the same on each page if possible - meaning the size of the rounded box - if it changed drastically that would be one thing (the height that is) but those slight changes are annoying (maybe its just me...)

image gallery for news item: schmooze does not provide larger images when clicked... they are the same size...

[conehead]

the background gradient changes based on the size of the content area.... again probably just me - but I would rather it stay the same...

any way to make the subscribing deal fit the design of the site? or another way to work this... just does not look the most professional...

[conehead]

I would put all the contact stuff on one page - the less clicks the better and since you are not constraining the height of the design no reason not to....

[conehead]

can you validate the contact form with javascript so I do not have to click back and forth?
