Hi all,

Has anyone had any luck configuring to sipgate? I want to be able to config my 406v2 to test it out with a free account I have with them. If there are any other companys that do free accounts that work I can try then im more than happy and maybe one of you will have already been down this avenue.

This is the first IP office system that im playing with so its one hell of a learning curve.

I was looking around to see if there was any tutorials but havn't found any on the ipoffice yet. Are there any free ones.???

This forum is of great help...

Thanks for looking at my post.

shouldnt be hard. as long as you have all the details to hand and im guessing it will require a stun server.

make sure your switch is on 4.x or above. rel5.x pref.

just configure a sip trunk to them with their details and it will work.

i know i did that at one point and was straightforward, will look for details

Thanks for both your replys....

@hairlessupportmonkey im on 4.2 at the moment....im not sure if my 406v2 will take the upagrade. It said it had 449xxx of free memory when i took a look in monitor so ill see if I can find the actual memory in it.

@mititelu Yeah if you can find any details on how you did it it will be of help.

Thanks for both replying.

I have recently cobfigured a V6.1 system to work with sipgate so can confirm it does work.

if a 406V2 will take V4 it will upgrade to any supported version.

Stun 217.10.68.152

proxy sipgate.co.uk
domain: sipgate.co.uk

Sip credentials

User name <user ID>
Auth Name <user ID>
contact <tel>

should be enough to get you going

I cant see anyware else to put the info.

voip i have nothing.

Can you advise me if I need other bits in other places etc or if ive stuck the details in the wrong place.

Thanks

G

just make each of your SIP URI fields "SIP Credentials."

you will just need to resolve the IP for proxy.sipgate.co.uk yourself, its not hard, use nslookup in windows, or simply ping the host record.

failing that, find yourself a goof local BP (smiles) to help you out.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

sorry
I forgot some vital info
The Sipgate stun server is on port 10000

Hi, I'll re-visit it later today when I get back from London. Thanks to those that have helped so far.

Ill do a nslookup to get the addie later on stick that in and recheck the monitor.

I have to say I thought (Bangs head on wall) that is would be like my sip phone and id just need to enter a few simple details. I didn t think it would need this much info put into the manager.

I also found on my laptop that I have version 6.0 when I looked last night but Ill keep the 406v2 at 4.2 for now till I get this going.

Once again thanks all for the help.

G

Well couldnt get it to go. It was a bit odd at one stage as it came up with some phone number that I hadnt seen before and the disappeared...lol. However my number didnt ring but i did see an RX come in but with a rearly odd number and some sip account thing.

Transmitter 319: If you are still trying sipgate with IP Office and can't get it going:-

I have registered it with my Avaya IP Office Small Office Edition running 4.2(23). You need the following settings.

1. You need to have the licence "IPO LIC SIP Trunks" part code is 202968 if you need to order it from a Avaya BP. If you have this already you should see SIP Trunk channels and "valid" within "Licences". Without this needless to say it won't work.

2. Your IP Office 406v2 MUST have a VCM (voice compression module). Without it VoIP doesn't work on IP office.

3. ITSP address is 217.10.79.23, the rest you should know i-e username and password (do not enter the @sipgate.co.uk part within username), leave the rest on default settings.

4. Go to SIP URI tab and assign this trunk to a unique line group number, set max calls to 1, leave the rest default

5. Now go to System LAN and then select the Network topology tab

6. In here type 217.10.68.152 and port 10000 as per IP Guru's last post

7. Click on Run STUN. Save these new settings. Ignore the "Communications is not possible...." warning in Manager Error list.

8. Now save this configuration to your system and reboot. You will need to add an "Incoming Call Route" choose the line group you assigned to your SIP trunk and route the calls to where ever you want.
