hairlesssupportmonkey WTF is up with you... I thought that this forum was for us installers or IP Office users to support each when all else fails. I myself have been installing IP Offices for about 5 years and feel that I know the system very well, I have been to a few Avaya classes in Denver a few years ago and still I sometimes refer to this blog to catch up on new features. I also am having trouble manipulating outbound caller ID on my SIP trunks. I cant get much support from Catalyst because our sales person sold them some SIP trunks from SimpleSigle, who are not supported by AVAYA. I have not had much exposure to SIP trunks, So if you dont want to help just dont respond to the question.
MrLuis, we get these questions every day. Some people are just too lazy to use google or the search option all the time. So if he put in some more detail on what version, providor, and if he uses "user data" and his URI settings then it's easier for the rest to pin point to a good answer.
Also his Reseller can hand out the details on how to set this up.
@Jmtelco you need to make sure your provider allows you to send what you want, plus it also needs to be in the correct format. Some providers require full E164 whereas others will accept anything. You also need to know where to place the outbound ID, again some look at different parts of the invite header, Contact, Remote Party ID, P-Asserted, From, etc.
If you create a dedicated Trunk URI for outbound calls needing to show the DDI number then select as they guys mention USE USER DATA in all fields. The fields are populated in the invite message like below: (notice the Display_Name, LocalURI and Contact Fields). If you want a group of users to send the same number you can either populate their SIP USER TAB with the same number or create a new SIP URI Trunk with this number and use USER Rights to route calls via this trunk, saves a lot of inputting.
It would be a lot simpler if Avaya allowed the sending of the E in short codes or E_Name as the SIP USER TAB is defaulted with the User Name.
Its only displayed when I use a specific shortcode - I was just playing around and can basically present any number I want from my extension (over Voiceflex).
