Hi there
I have a problem with a CXi with an ASU where the sip trunks are causing the analog ports to lock up after a few days ( also happens on the AOB ports). The only way to clear is to reboot the system. The sip provider is using G729 and there is adequate DSP and Compression licences on the system.

Odd...
What are the analog ports for? Phones? Fax?
Disable conferencing or look for disconnect signalling?
Nice one.

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this sentence.

Thanks ,Its a Hotel ..analog phones in the Rooms.
If we force the calls out PSTN ,its fine but after a few days on Sip Trunks ,the port locks Up .Its a strange one for when I say the port locks - It usually means you hear diall tone but when you make a call ..its silence your end but the phone the other end will ring.
This software log seems to happen around the time of a port lockup.

Mught be incompatible SIP signaling
Is it possible to call from one internal phone to another?

Also software version may give some hints as well.

Can you capture this kind of "dead air" SIP session and see if all SIP convesation are complete. Also it could be a memory leak in SIP stack when a session cannot allocate appropriate memory and effectively fails. Capture system diagnostic file. It might be helpfulll for MITEL support.

Personaly I never connect MITEL straight to a service providers due to security concerns since it was never designed to be exposed to the wild Internet. I always use a SIP proxy gateway where I can sanitize and validate all SIP messages. As an example I use aterisk PBX where I can tweak protocols in both directions satifying requirements of MITEL ICP and Internet phone service provider.

what software rev? There is a problem with a couple of early rel 9 and SIP.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

thanks
software level is 9.0.1.17 ,might upgrade it to MCD 4

thanks slapin ,
From what I can remember ( I have switched the Sip Trunks off) once the analog port "locks" you can call internally but its OWT. I have issues with this provider from the start ..To get it to register and authenticate the 3300 I had to make it seem the calls from the mitel were coming from sip.xxxxxx.com which is the sip provider .
There sever seems to be DIGITALK Multiservice Platform

Actually it is normal for internet telephony providers forcing users to register with their domain. It is like having email address with you internet provider, you get their domain or nothing, unless you pay for your own domain, hosting and etc. It is used for interdomain routing (in theory) when you should be able to call any user in format sip:user@domain from any other domain like you can send emails. Because this days SIP is described in a dozen of RFCs, there are little details in implementations which can cause various issues. I can name a couple of provider which have tested MITEL, so if you wish to get reliable results, look for provides which certified Mitel or just deal with issues on your own way.
