SIP Trunk Provider Recommendation

Anyone have good luck with a particular sip trunk provider with a IPO 500 ? I'm thinking about getting 2-3 channels of SIP Trunk to grow capacity and deciding on a provider now. But want to be sure I find one that will play nice with IP Office :).

I also would like to find one that will allow me to change the callerid to a number that is not with them. We are subletting a few spaces and would like to show the outbound calls to appear they are coming from number 111-111-1111 even thou we don't have that number ported into the sip trunk provider (The sub letter will just call forward the number to a fake DN at the provider for incoming calls).

That way, when they leave there is no hassle of porting out the number.

Any thoughts?

your location would be good to know

If located in England - go for Voiceflex, they allow every thing you have asked for.

If outside of England I dont know.

I have many systems set up with Nexvortex and everything works great. You can send your own caller ID (I use this to send the main phone # as the caller ID, rather than the SIP phone number).

You pay $40 a month for unlimited concurrent calls/trunks/channels. Only limited by your SIP Licenses/VCM resources. So when you add more licenses, you get more calls.

They are based in Virginia, USA. We are very happy with them.

Sorry..forgot to mention. Most my clients are in the washington, dc metro area in USA.

DavidCT,

I looked at nexvortex and they looked like a great option. Do the numbers you sent to them for callerid have to be owned by then?

IE> If I purchase a sip trunk with say 2 phone numbers 111-111-1111 and 222-222-2222 from nexvortex.

Can I only send callerid with those two directory numbers or can I send a third unregistered number 333-333-3333.

The reason is, I have a client that would like to rent out some of his office. One selling point is we can have a 'renter' come into the office and just call-forward his existing number to a temporary number we have with nexvortex. That will get incoming calls into the IPO. Then, the trick is we want to be able to send that 'renters' callerid number on the outgoing calls from IPO.

Alot of providers will not let you do this for obvious security / spoofing reasons but there are legit reasons to be wanting to do this!

In the UK whether or not you can send other numbers is controlled by OFCOM, when we wish to send out numbers not associated with the SIP account we have to send our SIP supplier the following.

"For the SIP accounts in question, please enable Type 5 Presentation Number facilities as defined in the Ofcom Guidelines for the Provision of Calling Line Identification Facilities and other Related Services over Electronic Communications Networks Version 2, published 11 December
2003 and amended 26 April 2007. I understand the risks and responsibilities associated with this feature, and I undertake to present only numbers which I own or am authorised to display by their respective owners."

vtphilk,

Yes, we can send caller ID of a phone number not with Nexvortex. Similar set up to what you mention... We have a client who is a Doctor. When he makes calls he wants his main office/answering service # to display, not the SIP line. Works like a champ.

Call Nexvortex and speak with Luke in sales. Drop me an email (my handle at email dot com) if you want other names of people there.
