Hi

i have done a configure sip SIP trunk on S8300 CM 5.2 (signaling group and trunk group) without SES i have tested it with cisco call manager 6.1, it was working fine both ways but the same configuration if i route it to Alcatel OXO ( i am able to dial from the avaya to alcatel but one way speech) from Alcatel to Avaya i was not able to dial.

i have done the same test but with h323 it was working fine with alcatel and cisco.

do i need SES to integrate with alcatel.

Yes or No. Unfortunately SIP sucks when it comes to standardized implementations between the various vendors. My suggestion would be to run an MST trace (or Wireshark capture) on the SIP signalling group to see what type of negotiation is occuring and what the failure reason is. You may need to changes codecs (which may be why you are getting one way speech). Header manipulation may be necessary which may require an alternative approach (such as a Session Border Controller). You also need to verify items such as: Do you need to prepend a + to the Calling number, and Telephone Event Payload Type. Both of which are set in the trunk group form.
