This is probably a stupid question, but I didn't see it addressed in the first 50 pages or so of forum posts, so here goes:
1) BrookTrout SR140 software FAX "card"
2) 3300 (not sure which model, MXE? ) with T.38 licenses, DSP II, SIP trunk licenses, T-1s, etc.
3) The configuration documentation I received from my FAX Server vendor (Fenestrae) says to set up SIP trunks on the 3300, and basically just point the SR140 in the general direction and it's supposed to work.
Well...
1) The SR140 tries to start a session, but the 3300 replies with "SIP/2.0 503 Service Unavailable"
2) the BrookTrout diagnostic software sees this as a busy signal.
3) The 3300 will from time to time send a request for options supported by the SR140, but the SR140 replies with a 501 Not Implemented.
Long and short of it is that neither side is talking to the other, really, and as a consequence, I can neither send nor received calls on my virtual FAX server.
The solution is probably trivial, but I am a novice at both SIP (0 experience beyond setting up normal endpoints like XLite etc) and MITEL MCD and I am getting really frustrated.
Any assistance appreciated.
