Not sure if the title is helpful, but here is my situation:

I have two locations (A and B) in two different area codes.

I have a SIP trunk in one location (site A). The two IP offices 9.0 that are in a SCN and all dial out the SIP trunk at site A.
The SIP trunk is given the outbound caller ID based on the information within the SIP tab of each user.

So here is my question:

When a user from site A visits site B, I would like to send out the caller ID information as they at site B (so site A user sends out site B's area code). So basically I would like to send out the Caller ID based on location of where they hot-desked.

If this is not clear, please ask any question.

Thanks everyone for all the help in the past.

Mike

Add a 2nd URI on the SIP trunk with the correct number you like to send.

on site B. add an ARS (51), add a 6 in front of the dialed number, route it to site A.

Route the default ARS (0 or 9) to this ARS (51)

Then on site A, add ARS code 6, routed to the new URI.

Thank you Okkie, I will give that a try tonight.

That did not seem to work, unless I did something wrong. I get call rejected at site B.

Any other thoughts?

1st make sure you are able to dial a number. And check if the call is routed to site A over the SCN trunk using system status connected to site B. Check if the call is routed via ARS (51)

2nd. Check if you can see the call in system status connected to site A. Check if you can see that this call is routed via the shortcode 6. Check if you can see the call on the SIP trunk.

Thanks again Okkie, I did watch the monitor, and it shows site B is sending the number with 6 in front of it. So when I dial 1234567 it send 612345867 to my sip provider at site A.

The system currently work great dialing both from site A and site B through the SIP trunk at site A. I was just hoping that I could have site B send its local area code through site A. I was able to dial from site A using the newly created URI, so that looks like I am at site B, which is helpful. But still site B cannot dial through the newly created URI.

Maybe I need to sleep on this and try another round tomorrow.

Thanks again Okkie for your help and suggestions!!!

Okkie, I got it to work with your help.

I added the URI to the SIP trunk just as you sugggested. Then on site B I made an ARS entry as

Code: N;
Tele: 96N
Line: 203

And on site A I added

Code: 6N;
Tele: 1(areacode)N
Line 317

This seems to work, tomorrow will tell.

Thanks again Okkie for your help.

Congrats on you Mike.

Although, I kicked you in the right direction, you were able to understand what I was trying to achieve, and you did managed to get it working.

That's the way we like it here..

Cheers.

Oscar..

Okkie,

If it were not for your kicks, I would have never completed the calling rules. Plus a learn a lot.

Thanks again for your help!
