Hey all,

Has anybody successfully connected directly to a Siemens HIPATH from a Mitel 3300 using SIP. Nothing in the SIP interoperability on MOL.

Have always connected using QSIG in the past, but the Siemens guys here in Australia are convinced that SIP will work.

If i call from a Siemens set to a Mitel there is no issue. Get the correct 100, 180, 200 BYE etc. When calling from a Mitel to Siemens get 100 Trying then "Reason Phrase : User not registered Response Code : 404. SIP/2.0 404 Not Found"

I cannot find anybody that has done this in Europe, or over here in OZ where i am now..

Any help would be awesome guys.

Lovely...
:>)
Are these things in the same room/subnet? Or over extended LAN/WAN?
Are they both programmed as peers?
We have SIP trunked another 3300/Toshiba CIX so far. On the Toshiba the Mitel could not access the Toshiba trunks but desk to desk worked.
Does the Hi Path need authentication? Try turning it off.
What RFC's do they have in common?

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this sentence.

Migth be URI format mismatch. Does Siemens require IP or domain name in URI. Can you reach your destination from a softphone?

Thanks Guys

Siemens are about 2 kms away connected over a DSL connection on the same subnet.

Whenever i talk to them, they state that"We do not do authentication". How do we turn it off on the Mitel, so that we never try to authenticate and the link always stays up?

Appreciate your help ..

Just wondering if I can ask you what cards/boards were in the HiPath to make this work? Did you require a special IP/VoIP board?

Hey MitelGuy

Seems the Siemens guys are just attempting to say that the Mitel is at fault, and is not responding to my enquiries. I will attempt to get some more info from them.....
