SIP Mode Dialog 4422

How can I switch from H323 mode to SIP mode on a Dialog 4422?

In the "Settings menu" you should find the protocol setting.
You must be be in admin mode (C * 4) in order to change between H323 and SIP.
N.B SIP is only supported in phones with hardware version 2.

Hi etompau,

The version on the sticker is DBC 422 02/01001 R2F
On the settings menu I can read H323 mode.
But I try C*4 when switching on, during the five seconds countdown, and nothing, I can not get into admin mode.
Could be the password has been changed?
Can I reset it to factory specs?

Sorry a typo, Admin mode is activated by pressing the keys C * 5 simultaneously for two seconds when you have accessed the settings menu.

C'4 will show SW version of the phone.

Yes, I got to enter in the admin mode, but I can not found the option SIP/H323.

Anyway, may be someone can answer next question.
Is the Dialog 4422 good to use in a home SIP system?

My idea is to install a small SIP system at home. I already got a SIP server account. There is a router DD-WRT or Open WRT next to the DSL modem.
So, Can I connect the Dialog 4422 to the SIP port?
or it should be a different IP phone model?

Hi,

I have the same question.

I would like to use Ericsson Dialog 4422 (sticker under the phone mention is DBC 422 02/01001 R2F) with Asterisk.
I can see Protocol (Auto(H323)) mentioned in network settings view, but can't see and choose it when in administrator mode.

Is it possible that the change is auto adaptive to the server ?

Does any one knows about that ?

Hi,

Anyone knows if the Dialog 4422 in SIP mode is good to use in a home system?
When I say home system I am talking about a Zyxel P2602 or LinkSys with DD-WRT SIP firmware.

Changing the protocol in a DBC 422:

1. Press the "Settings" key (Upper right function key)
2. Scroll in the menu with + and - keys until "Network" is highlighted.
3. Select the function with the loudspeaker key.
4. Activate admin mode with C * 5 (indicated by a short ring signal)
5. Scroll with + and - keys until Protocol menu is highlighted.
6. Select with loudspeaker key.
7 Chnage protocol with + and - keys. Enter with loudspeaker key
8. Exit the menu with C key.

N.B a too old FW in the phone may not support SIP.

I would say that the DBC 422 is no good for "SIP home use".

My telephon installer and I did not knew that admin mode could be entered by this way.

I intend to use DBC 422 with Asterisk in replacement of our Ericsson MX-One for a business use, but i am curious to know why DBC 422 is no good for SIP home use ?

I haven't been able to enter an Registrar namne and a alphanumeric login name in the phone. I have a SIP account from "Voipstunt" and with a Snom SIP phone, the registration works perfectly OK, but with the DBC 422, no success!

Etompau, many thanks for your help, anyway.

I got into the admin mode, I have been playing with IPs with no success.
I just got a SIP account; 12345@sarenet.com where 12345 is my user and there is a password too. No IPs, nothing else.
For softphones works good.

Now I did those settings into my DD-WRT MilkFish SIP router (LinkSys WRT54G) but I can not get the Dialog4422 working with that configuration.

So, I am going to buy a "normal" SIP phone, Snom style, and try again.

after changing it to SIP try logging into the phone via the browser to setup the remainder of you settings.

Default password will be Ericsson or Telephone
