I'm having a problem with my own site and clients that have SIP trunks setup.

Any time there is a problem with the internet or the ITSP the Avaya does not appear to failover to the Main lines (ISDN in this case) as specified in the Alternate Route of my VoIP ARS table.

When looking in System Status the Avaya shows no sign of detecting the network link as down. The only time Failover does work is if the cable is physically pulled from the Avaya unit, but this is hardly a real world problem.

Anyone have any experience or advice with this?

Thanks
Richard

I dont think the IPO is capable of seeing the internet as down.

It will fallback from isdn to sip but not the other way around id ont think.

I havent actually tried it though.

Strange isn't it. It seems to be a pretty basic (and very important) feature that is available on a large number of "low end" consumer devices but not a "high end" Avaya IP Office.

But unfortunately puregold I think you are right.

On another note. SCN VoIP fall back to PSTN/ISDN is officially supported and in my tests does work well.

Avaya have officialy confirmed that SIP fallback to ISDN/PSTN is NOT currently supported.

I will have to hope it is a priority for future updates.
