Hi All,
I have a issue, I have an IP Office 9.0 connected via SIP to Session Manager. When I make a call from CM to the IP Office i get the below error Response = 503 Service Unavailable.

The the trunks on the IP Office is configure as SMLine.

2/13/15 2:07:54 PM-005ms Line = 9, Channel = 1, SIP Message = Response, Direction = From Switch, From = +6121@combank.cb, To = 5010@mydomain.com, Response = 503 Service Unavailable
2/13/15 2:07:54 PM-008ms Line = 9, Channel = 1, SIP Message = Ack, Direction = To Switch, From = +6121@mydomain.com, To = 5010@mydomain.com

I understand but that's what the customer is using with their other IP office to the session Manager ad it is working

Well a 503 is no connection. It's not even getting to authenticate level. The wan cable may as well be unplugged.

Ip routes?
System status ping?
Sip trunks enabled for that Lan? I did that myself this week, albeit for about two minutes.
I think it's their end. When it starts responding you may have to make some changes.

There is a document i saw this week: configuring sip trunks between CM and ipo.
It's cisco ucm but may be helpful.

@ Holdmusic34- Thanks for your help so far,
IP route is in place Also IPO can ping the session manager and the CM.

you probably need to be speaking to whoever maintains the CM to find out why there system is refusing the call

It could be an error their end or your end, if you have this information it will help rectify which ever end need rectifying

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

If you could include the full Sip TX/RX log that might say a bit more, otherwise if you have access to traceSM logs that should explain it.

Frankly that's balls

If you are getting an error 503 back, you have a connection at the TCP level! Otherwise you would not receive a reply at all.

A 503 is that SIP service is not available. I'd look closely at the session manager and check
1) that the device is not in "deny service"
2) that the entity link is correct and also not in "deny service"

My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks Guys I will look at all of those this morning and advise of my findings.

Beow is what I am getting from SM

It could be a firewall issue. Try creating an IP trunk in between the IPO and SM. if your IP TRK works then it is a port not allow or configured.

Thanks Matt [peace]

503 Service Unavailable means The server is undergoing maintenance or is temporarily overloaded and so cannot process the request.
I should have realised it was a response code.

i.e. the other end is saying we're not read- go away.

I seems like the IPO is answering with 503 so a default monitor trace on the IPO should say what's wrong.

Seems he got 2 stars for that =)
Well, he's right that the trunk connection is up.

The entity headers weren't included in the SM trace but if I assume that they are
CM < -- > SM < -- > IPO

Then he gets OPTIONS from the IPO where the SM answers "No route available" so it looks like they don't agree on the settings, it's a guessing game what's wrong without logs.

Could be just that there's not SIP licenses in the IPO =)

I also see a 404 in the SM so this means that the URI is not found.
I do not know if this is the IPO or the CM.
If it is the IPO then put the URI on a user or group or use *'s as wildcards.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

>Nah. Janni. We've been told that theory's balls

I may have misread the initial line. "The wan cable may as well be unplugged" as being "The wan cable may be unplugged"

The point I was trying to make, is that the TCP connection is up and working because 503 is a response that validates the TCP connectivity

We agree there, but as long as Bonker don't provide IPO trace we're just guessing.

Maybe they should have same rules on forum threads as when reporting to Avaya, include config and monitor trace or the thread is closed, and when provided always just answer "Design intent" =)
