Hello all.
Has anyone try to succesfully setup a sip client in a pda with Windows mobile 6.
I have both sip trunks & sip endpoints licenses in ip500.

What do you think?

On the SJPhone app itself.

You can also "force" from Manager | Extension, second tab of that extension and select a specific codec (it will be the first in the list in the INVITE sent to the SIP Client!)

Also, if you have a good network connection it is better to change Automatic Codec Preference to G711 (in System | Telephony | Telephony)

I dont know; did all the above test with all available codecs.
Voice Quality is low on internal calls and simply unacceptable on external calls. On top of that SJ Phone doenst use the pda telephone buttons because its not made for the specific device. User must use other assigned buttons for making and answering calls.
Do you all make your tests in pda with windows mobile 6.1 and found it ok??
I think its impossible to sell it with that results

SJPhone is a free software.. and it is only one of the many SIP clients existing for WM..
I's a symbian fan and all the gadgets (with symbian) that I have tried work excellent! :)
(On iPhone works fine as well).

Regarding your problem:
If you select G711 for all parties, in SSA what do you see in active calls? Is the call connected with G711 or another codec?
The voice quality is low only with SJPhone or with other IP devices as well?
Can you try with xLite to see if the problem persists?

The only problem I've had is that when the PDA goes to sleep, WiFi shuts off. This can be problematic when you receive a call. I've never had any luck with keeping WiFi active.

I heard about "Communication Manager Pro". His "options" are to switch on Wifi at seleceted locations and select the option to keep the state in suspend mode, too!

I believe this is what you need!

I have not tested since I have only symbian phone and an iPhone! :)

Hope you succeed!

Merry Christmas!

Paul...do you have iPhone SIP Client instructions?? Can you send me the link?

The VCM30 card on a carrier is / will be supported with release 6.0! :D

I am using a Siphon (installed from Cydia) Version 2.1.0
A friend of mine from Canada is using SipPhone (he bought the license) and also works fine!
Whatever software you will use please just tell me the fields you need to fill in and I will tell you the rest!

Best Regards,
Paul.
