I've been getting quite a lot of complaints regarding our SIP endpoints. When calls come in and the user lifts the handset to answer the call, it doesn't answer the ringing appearance and goes off hook on call-appr 2. Is that a setting somewhere? I'm not finding it anywhere in the actual phone and have skimmed the 46xx file, but not finding anything. To answer the incoming call you have to manually press the line appearance or the answer softkey. Quite annoying.

Phone model?
We have 9608SIP and J-series, have not come across that issue...

We are using J169. Call comes in on line appearance 1.. when lifting the handset the call goes off hook on line appearance 2, instead of answering the ringing line.

you are running the j169 phones in h.323 right as I believe sip is not supported for that phone type in CM.

J169 SIP is definitely supported on Aura. Refer to the J100 Software ReadMe files.

I have a mixed environment. Mainly h.323 and running a mix of 96xx, 96x1 and J169. Then a handful of remote SIP J169's. The J169's aren't a phone type in CM and are setup as 9611. I haven't read anywhere where J169 SIP has to be rel.7. They work fine, it's just this annoyance with answering calls on the SIP flashed ones. You have to press the answer softkey and then lift the handset or press the ringing line appearance and then lift the handset. You can't just lift the handset and have it grab the ringing line. I'd have thought that would be a setting, even though it is a bit bizarre it wouldn't work that way as default.

Check the station form, page 2 for Idle Appearance Preference.

y = The user connects to an idle call appearance instead of the ringing call.
n = The Alerting Appearance Preference is set and the user connects to the ringing call appearance.

well doesn't sound like they work fine

ACSS IP Office AIPS IP Office
