Hi,

We have to currently dial 9 to get an outside line but are in the process of implementing SIP connections from our mobile phones. As the phones already have phonebooks we don't want to have to add a 9 to dial a number. We have been told this is not possible on the Mitel ICP 3300. Can it be done?

Thanks

Neal

What SIP client are you using, and on what mobile phones? Perhaps the app has a function allowing you to inject a prefix to all calls?

The Mitel 3300 requires that you use ARS programming for outbound calls, unless you have a trunk appearance on a phone of an analog trunk.

Typically, 9 is used as a leading digit to access ARS to make outbound calls, but any other digit can be used.

The Mitel 3300 does not have a feature to bypass this requirement.

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

We are using Nokia E71's which don't seem to have the ability to add number to the beginning when using SIP. I believe it is possible on other clients but that is not the standard cellphone in use most people have Nokia's.

The ability to add the prefix would most likely come from the SIP client itself. Is it a Nokia branded client or some other software? In any case it would be the only way to accomplish what you're looking to do other than manually adding the ARS prefix for a call.
