Single user mode

Greetings,

Our E250 is sucking right now :-(, it boots with
errors etc. and I want to put it in single-user mode and do an fsck, but cannot. I read that when it boots, you hit stop(?) and a...and info is appreciated.

Are you connected to the serial port of the server? If so try sending a break from a laptop ( running hyperterm ) or terminal .

 

Connected to a desktop, managed to get another prompt, but
it is looping. Still unable to get to single-user mode:

ENTER RUN LEVEL (0-6, s or S): S
will change to state S

INIT: SINGLE USER MODE

Type Ctrl-d to proceed with normal startup,
(or give root password for system maintenance):
Entering System Maintenance Mode

Apr 16 08:20:58 su: 'su root' succeeded for root on /dev/syscon
ld.so.1: -ksh: fatal: /usr/lib/libc.so.1: unknown file type

ENTER RUN LEVEL (0-6, s or S): s

Hi

May be you should boot of the Solaris CD into a single user mode, repair the root file system and then try to boot from the disk.
