My boss wants a single button on his Avaya 6408d+ to forward all his calls to his cell phone when he is not in his office, I know this is possible but had a stroke last year and a portion of my memory is just not there any more..

can anyone help

my system is a Definity G3 vers 11..

change station, on a free button put call-f, enter his cell phone number there

We don't allow call forwarding off-net (due to toll fraud); in cases like this we either [1] give the user a 2nd coverage point (putting their cell phone number in the remote-coverage-table) and giving them a speed-dial button for switching between coverage path 1 and coverage path 2, or [2] giving the user an EC500 account.

Ok I had already set up a cover path that works to his cell phone, but what do I put in the speeddial list to get it to switch coverage paths?

See the thread I started

Send All Calls vs Call Forward
thread690-1399238

I got it to work very easy. hope it helps

You'll use the FAC for Change Coverage Access Code, followed by the extension, followed by the number of the desired coverage path. I use two speed dials; one for coverage path 1 and another for coverage path 2.

Example:

Speed Dial for Coverage Path 1: [red]~s[/red][blue]*13[/blue][maroon]1234[/maroon][green]1[/green]
[red]~s[/red] = surpress the display
[blue]*13[/blue] = FAC for Change Coverage Access Code
[maroon]1234[/maroon] = Station Extension
[green]1[/green] = Coverage path 1

I build a simple vector with a route to 9xxxxxxxxxx. I then point a VDN to the vector and forward my calls to the VDN. Viola!

I agree with Susan on this one. Allowing call forwarding off net is opening your self to toll fraud and not the best method.

I would have all the fields on his coverage path to "Y" except SAC or send all calls and place a "N" there. When he leaves and need to have his calls go to his cell, then he hits the SAC button on his phone and it goes to the remote coverage path. Like Susan said, you will have to create another path "ch cov rem 1) and add his cell number to that list.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

Ok, Here's what I did...
I looked at the "Disp fea" and found that the Send All Calls activation was *2 and #2 was deactivation... I put an entry in his personal list "cha abbr per #### list 1" (#### is his extension) and made entry #1 = *28165551212 (his cell phone #)
entry #2 = #2

Then made the buttons on his digital phone set look like this...

button #6 = abrv-dial list: 1 DC: 01
button #7 = abrv-dial list: 1 DC: 02

so #6 activates it and #7 turns it off..

Thanks for all the valuable posts!!!

you also could have given him his own COS for fwding off net.

Which category do I change to allow the forwarding off-net?
