I just read that Simpliphones (a company that made "plug & play" IP PBXs) has gone out of business.

From what I've read, their systems simply failed to deliver.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

can u post the link to the article?
Thanks

do a Google search , they went "POOF "

I read about it over on Sundance, but, like Skip said, search Google for the details.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

feel sorry for the poor saps that bought this junk (not really).
Obviously it wasn't that many.

Anyone that buys a phone system along with their 20 pound coffee at COSTCO kind of deserves to be left out to dry.

You get what you pay for in life I suppose.

if you call the main number you get a reorder tone...

I just saw two of those "systems in a box" at my local Sam's Club on the clearance shelves. $2900 Funny.

Does Sam's really think that they will get that much money for an orphaned product [ponder] [laughtears]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

sure they will . and the guy that buys it will be here looking for help on his "phone system "

Good point Skip! [rofl] [laughtears]

Thinking about trying to buy one for about $10 to play with it.

Ooo Ooo Me too, Where can I get it? All the Google hits I checked were either "Sold Out" or 404.

if you find some for that price I get on that bandwagon as well, just post it here.

I found a source that said make an offer. I am wondering what to offer, the PC is a XP Pro from what I have read with 512 RAM, and probnably a P4. I do not think the phones are compatible with any other phone system, so it is the PC that has any possible value left.

What would you guys offer him for a 8 phone set up?

About $500 and only if it's functional. For a grand, you can grab a working IP system with 4 FXO's and 3 phones. When you get this one, you have no tech support and no repair. So it either works or its a PC :)

Brand new in the factory sealed box is the condition, so hoepfully it would work. I thought it would make a nice toy to play with, as well as maybe a good sales tool to bring along as a visual aide for advising on going with a less than industry leader for your telephony.

I was thinking 200 including shipping.

make him the offer . worse he can do is say no

I actually have this system. 16 phones and all. I am not looking at selling at this point because, quite frankly, if you know what you are doing you can make the thing work. We are upgrading within the next couple months to a much larger system, and will be looking to send this one out(for a little return at least). If anyone would be interested email me.

where? I am at msn

It would be customary to buy something you can resell or is of current manufacture.

That being said, if the price is somewhere between the aforementioned $200 and $500 I'd be inerested :)

the usual suspects at woh.rr.com would get me.
