Hi Peoples
Can anybody point me to a site where I can get a simple, cheap(shareware) or freeware call accounting program to run in conjunction with a Panasonic 1232 digital system.
For use by a community service group.
Thank you in advance

I have tried looking for such software myself but have not found any. I resorted to capuring my SMDR in a simple Comms program like Procomm Plus. It did the job ok temorarily, but not really any good for long term use.

the callware program is really good ,not cheap though about 500 I beleive

what is it you are trying to accomplish ?

If it's for SMDR you don't need any software, the system is already set up. All you have to do is put a printer in the EIA port and do some programming.

Thanks Guys
What I wanted was to have a computer connected to the SMDR port and to read the data when it came out, store it, then at the end of the month or when ever print out the calls that each extension had made.
Cheers

You could run Hyperterminal, or Procomm, or some other dumb terminal program. Capture the output to a text file. (Don't know if you could hold an entire month's output in one file). Then import the text file into Excel, and sort the columns to get the reports that you are looking for.

Don't know of any free programs out there to do it for you though.

There are loads of call logging systems out there e.g. Oak etc. How many are free is another question.

I would suspect that there are not many as each make of switch will have its own SMDR feed. IMHO The main cost in these programs is in the SMDR maps (you are buying the knowledge). The rest is (relatively) simple coding.

If you do suceed in finding a free one, you will almost certainly have to do the mapping yourself (which will be a pain).

I reamin unconvinced about using excel as the SMDR stream may contain charcters that are not handled by excel ( but suck it and see!)
Take Care

Matt
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

one thing you might try is have your community service write to the manufactures of call ware and other programs and see about a donation or discount

you would be surprised what you can get free if the right person connected to the right cause asks.
