Is ASP a Microsoft Windows Operating Environment?

Thanks!

This seems like an open-ended question that can be interpreted in several different ways. Here is a start:

Or are you seeking perhaps a more specific answer to a more specific question?

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

ASP can be run on any server and any OS. It is a M$ developed platform though, thus being better suited towards IIS. But again I believe IIS can be run on other OS's as well.

It's not a simple question as far as I'm concerned. What a "Microsoft Windows Operating Environment"? I've never heard that term before.

It's not an Operating System if that's what you mean.

By default it only runs using Microsoft's Internet Information Server or Microsoft's Personal Web Server, which are only available in Microsoft operating systems.

Active Server Pages can be run on Solaris on Sparcstations, and Linux on x86 systems, including Red Hat Linux and SuSE Linux, by using Sun Active Server Pages (nee Chilisoft ASP) for $495.
Hope that helps. I'm not certain what you're asking.
