Some Cisco routers come with two ethernet ports (26X1, 26X1XM, 3725, etc.). Is it possible, desirable (easy?) to assign one of these ethernet ports for WAN and the other for WAN?

IOW, can the two ethernet ports be assigned different functions such as WAM and LAN?

You can do whatever you choose with the ports. They're just ethernet ports.

Be careful as this is tricky, especially trying to get them to jive with modems---bridging the modem, making a vpdn group and dialer interface and doing the ppp on the router gets hairy working with some modems...
