I have CR 8.5 And I have a lots of reports to edit for a customer. My problem/question is: In the title bar in CR, all I can see is the Title of the report not the filename. The help files in my installation is ufortunatly missing - so can anyone tell me if it is possible to make CR showing the filenames on the titlebar and/or the window list? This would be helpfull because I will open many reports at the same time to compare and do some copy/paste operations. Some of the reports have allmost the same titles, but very different file names so it would make thing easier if the title bar showed the current reports file name instead of just the title. Is this possible?

Excuse my bad English

In the Field Explorer, choose [Special Fields] and then [File Path and Name]. I usually put it in my page footer or report footer.

Maybe I did not express myself clear enough, but I am not looking for a solution to put the filename in the report itself. I just want to have the filename shown i the titlebar of Crystal Report while editing the report if possible.

I believe the only way it'll show the path, is if the Report Title is blank.

If report title is blank, you get the file name, but not the file path. At least not on my machine, for either Crystal 8.5 or Crystal 10.

OK! maybe I have to live with it then. I cant just remove all the titles from the reports. I wish there would be som "preferences" setting in CR to select the option "View Title and/or filename" in titlebar. Am I the only one needing such an option?

Well - thank you anyway for your answers.

Sverre,

At least one of the 3rd-party Crystal reports viewers listed at: provides an easy way (you simply need to create a formula with a special name) of controlling the title bar of the viewer window (for exactly the reasons you describe).

Hi!

Thanks for your reply IdoMillet, but once again, I am not interested in seeing the filename in any Viewer but in the CR design enviroment. The end user of the report does not need to see the filenames, but I would like to see both the filename and the title, while editing them in the CR design enviroment
