Avaya Partner phone system, 5 mailboxes...secretary at extension 10. Mailbox works on all extensions. I believe the system is Version 9.

Secretary can transfer calls to each extension, if ext. is not picked up, Voicemail recording plays, and caller can leave message. If someone calls in, and secretary does not transfer, pressing 0 gets voicemail....pressing any extension does nothing. It worked about 3 weeks ago, and now nothing. Its set up.."press 2 for Bob, 3 for Larry, 4 for Sue or press 0 for operator". Only 0 works.

I checked 78, 79 Hunt group, and it troubleshooted fine.

I have no idea how to fix.

Can someone help me?

Selector codes - this determines what happen when a caller presses a button.

Direct Extension Transfer means that's the first digit of a 2 digit extension number, so wait for another digit and then transfer to that.

Selector Code Transfer means caller presses a specific digit, system transfers to a specific extension.

You mention Ext. 78 and 79, so I would guess that you have the PC Card Partner Voice Messaging?

Log into mailbox 0, and option 4 is to set the selector codes. Press 2 and see if it is set to transfer to Bob's extension. If not, tell it which extension to go to, and so on until that are all set correctly.

Tommy...thank you for the reply...but I don't understand 100% what you are explaining for me to do. Maybe this is the issue? Example, Bob is extension 11, but on the answering system message, it directs the caller to press "2" in order to get to Bobs extension??

Why does everything work ok when the secretary transfers from her station, but not when she doesn't answer?

And yes I have PC card VM.

I know how to get into mailbox 0, but where is option 4?

I have DL'ed the Avaya manual so if its easier for you to direct me to a specific area that's fine too.

Thank you in advance.

Selector codes tell the system what to do when a caller pushes a button. When you log into the voicemail system as the Administrator.....the voicemail will give you a set of tasks to choose from. One option is to set the Selector Codes. That is where you can do those things. [smile]

Selector Codes

NOTE:
All Selector Codes are factory set to Direct Extension Transfer.

To assign the Automated Attendant Selector Codes for PARTNER Voice

1. Log into System Administration according to the appropriate procedure.
2. Press 4 to administer the Selector Code assignments.
3. Enter the Selector Code (from 1 to 9)
The system plays the current Selector Code assignment.
4. Do one of the following:
— To assign Direct Extension Transfer for this Selector Code, press #.
— To assign an extension to this Selector Code, enter the extension,
Hunt Group, or calling group number followed by #.
— To exit without changing the Selector Code assignment, press *#.
5. To program another Selector Code, repeat Steps 2 through 5.
