I have SimpleDrive 1TB external hd. It's been working fine. Usually it's hooked up to my PS3. I unplugged it and plugged it into my mac to add some stuff to it. I ejected it when I was done, turned off my mac, unplugged the usb and plugged it back into the PS3. And it wouldn't show up. So I turned off the ps3, unplugged it and plugged it back into my mac...and it won't show up. The icon won't show up on my desktop and it won't show up on in disk utility. The hd itself is on. But I can't see it anywhere.
Can anyone help?

Try turning the outboard drive off then on while it's plugged into the mac. If that doesn't work, try going to Apple menu/About this mac. Click More info and look at hardware/usb (I assume its a usb2 device) and see if it shows there. That will tell you if the thing is being recognized at all. If not, try a different usb wire or, if you have it, a different usb port on your mac.

You can also try restarting the mac with the outboard drive on and running. If it doesn't show on the desktop, see if it now shows on disk utility.

Unless there is a hardware failure, the most common cause is a software glitch caused by unplugging, or turning off or unplugging the outboard drive, without ejecting it first.

The external hd doesn't have an on/off switch. It turns on/off when whatever it's plugged into is turned on/off. And I don't see it under the More Info, About this Mac.

The unplug it from the electrical outlet and plug it back in
