simple anchor <a> </a> problem

Hi i have a quick problem, i have the following anchor,

Using php and mysql i have stored $url with a company's url,e.g.

http://www.company.com

problem is when i click it from the bottom link it shows....
http:\\localhost\

http://www.company.com

do you know wat the problem is anyone

I had a similar problem and I solved it storing the complete url in the record (e.g.:

http://www.elsevier.nl/

note the direction of the slashes) to make it &quot;absolute&quot;.

Your use of slashes could be doing it, too.

Your code example shows:

href=http:\\&quot;.$url.&quot;

Which is incorrect. It should read:

href=http://&quot;.$url.&quot;
