I am new to Simphony (at least the functionality of it), I am looking to see if there is any way to restart the services? Similar to the way you can with 9700 (command prompt, micros stop, micros start, micros ops down, etc...)

Hi hosehead78,
On the client, servicehost.exe if you close this service and start, Client operation will be restart.
Or you can use a batch for example ;
TaskKill /F /IM ServiceHost.exe
c:\Micros\Simphony\WebServer\ServiceHost.exe

If you mean database or ops restart like 9700 cygin. You can not do it. But you can use Workstation Control button on the CAPS.
If you use Lock Workstation, you can select one or all workstation. After that Workstation Ops show lock message like 9700.

Great Thanks.

Is there a log file I can tail (cygwin) for information like the 8700d.log on the 9700 system?

Hi hosehead78,
Simphony v2 have some logs. But all logs related services. If you need log about relevant above, you can use Audit Trail on EMC Task Bar.

Ok thanks etokatli.

Any other good Admin tips or thing's I need/should watch out for?
