Anybody know if there is a log file for when a phone registers or unregisters from a signaling server?

System is a CS1000M MG with HP Sig Servers. Release 6.0.

We had an issue over the weekend that could turn into a legal matter. If we can determine when a phone unregistered it would help.

I have PDT access if that is needed.

go into the LINUX base, and check the SS App log under Application Logs. look for TPS messages. Export it if its too big a file to view.

you will see OFFLINE , Unregistered messages...

Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't know it was there.

I actually found it by logging into the Sig Server using Putty. You need to su to root and the logs are in /var/log/nortel.

ss_common.log is the same as what you suggested.

If you need to go older than what the UCM shows you can go to the /var/log/nortel/old_logs and there will be archived versions of the logs.

The info I needed was actually in this archive.

Use the command tail -f ss_common.log

It will show the last 10 lines of the log and will continue to update until you hit ctrl z.

I did try it but it did not work?
is there any thing to do ?
