Signaling server and ITG cards

I wanted to clarify if you have a signaling server do you need to run your IP sets out of an ITG card?

You need Sig Server to register IP phones and allow IP to IP calls .
You need Voice Media Gateway card to allow calls from IP to TDM world (traditional telephony sets and trunks).

Thank you 3tdp33ler, that was my thinking, i was a bit confused as we have had a site upgrade to release 4.5 and they still have the ITG cards in it.

Signaling Server also gives you Element Manager (web-based configuration utility) and also hosts application for Personal Directory/Redial List/Callers List for IP Phones.

The ITG's become Availble DSP's for the IP to TDM and vice versa transformation
