Hello,
i was wondering if the following field when programming a signal group is personal pref, or does it do anything:

Trunk Group for Channel Selection:

That would be the trunk group you want it to do the signaling for. In my case, my signaling group 1 does the associated signaling for trnk group 5.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

i understand, but is it just a matter of choice whether to put the trunk group there? are there any issues if you leave it blank?

I would think you would have to point it somewhere in order for it to know what group you want it to do the signaling for.

If it is an IP trunk to another definity you will not be able to place calls without flagging that bit with the matching trunk.

In my exp tdm trunks do not have an issue if this is left blank.

ok, so as a standard, it's best to put the trunk group which i using that signal group. thanks all.
