Siemon mt-5000 110 Test Shoe

Anyone know where to find a 25-pair test shoe for a 110 block with an amphanol connector on the back? It specifically going to be used with the Siemon MT-5000 testor. For some reason Siemon discontinued this product. They still have the 66 block adapter, but not the 110. So if anyone knows who might make one, or some one who has one on a shelf some where, I'd really apriciate it.

If all else fails you can make an octopus cable with these from ICC

You will need 6 4 pair ones and 1 1 pair one, a little clunky but if its all you can get it would be inexpensive and accomplish getting an amphenol that can be temporarily connect to your 110 block for testing

Thought about that option, but clunky would be putting it mildly. It would have to be a last option. Plus, I couldn't let it be know here that I did, because then AvayaNovice would know I bought something from ICC.

What's this device you're talking about? A 25 pair at a time tester?

I've never worked with such a product, I have however, seen a 25-100 pair tester from CTC (communications technology corporation) but this was more for splicing, and not for MDF/IDF block testing.

Look up the Siemon MT-5000. It's basically a continuity testor. Connects via an amphanol or rj45 to what ever is on the other end of your patch cord (amphanol to amphanol in my case). If you use the rj45, you can test upto 4 pair at a time, depending on which ModTap adapter you have. Siemon maks a 25 pair 66 block adapter and they use to make a 25-pair 110 adapter as well.

I'll check the one from CTC and see if it would work.

Avaya, do you have a web site for CTC? I've found several CTC websites, but none of them have been the right one.

Just as a side note, I did find something from Independent Tech in Omaha, NE that might work. It costs about 3x what the Siemon one did though.

I found one in the Anixter cat. It is made by Independent Technologies. The Anxiter part # is 128299, Vendor part # is 3012. My sales guy gave me a price of $ 115.00. I hope this helps. B-)

Found that one, but a little put out by the price (3x what the Siemon was).
