I have inherited the job of looking after the Siemens telephone system in our company after an engineer left a few months ago.

The phone system is in a remote office. There is the HiPath 3000 management E software installed on both a PC on the local network in that office, and also on a standalone PC in my office with an ISDN card.

I am only wanting to manage basic settings at the moment such as name assignments and hunt groups.

I am trying to get a remote connection to the system from my office. I have the main ISDN telephone number, but not sure what connection type to choose. Also - can I use this PC with the ISDN card in, or do I need a standard modem?

Thanks

If you want to manage basic setting get hold on the "Siemens HiPath Manager C" for the connection you'll need a RS232 null-modem cable or an ISDN modem card with a phone with an ISDN adapter (S0-bus port) or an S0 port straight on the PBX. Another option is a Lim Module or a HG1500 card then you're able to manage it thru IP.

What is your locale, i'm Dutch so maybe i could help you out with the software and the rest of the hardware.

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

Sounds to me like he already has all the necessary hardware and software, if he just dials the number assigned in the database (normally the main number) the Hipath will just answer.
