I'm new to Windows XP Pro. I would like to stop the annoying auto logoff feature or at a minimum, lengthen the inactivity time so I don't have to keep logging on. I have searched help files on how to do this, but have been unable to locate the info needed. Can anyone point me in the right direction or provide a quick instruction as to how to do?

Thanks for pointing me to the website. However, the website is for Windows NT & Windows 2000 autodisconnect. Would the Windows NT & Windows 2000 procedures apply to Windows XP Professional?

Are you sure you're being logged off? Or do you have to supply a password after your screen saver has activated?

Right click on some empty space on your desktop, Properties, Screensaver tab, deselect 'On resume password protect'.

I have to supply my password to get back into the running programs. A screen appears asking me to enter a password to access the programs. I assumed this was a log-off.

The instructions I linked earlier are perfectly applicable to XP in every respect.

MS does not issue KB articles on the same isssue for every OS unless the methods and procedures required are different.
