Hi everyone,

Im just wondering is there anyway i can shrink the size of my database. My database is 9mb and it has barely any information and no pictures in it. I have used compact and repair but the size of the DB did not change. Can anyone tell me how come the DB is so large and is there a solution to shrink the size of it.

Thanks,
Nimalan

Try creating a new blank database then import all the tables, queries, etc into the new one and see if its any smaller.

In the past I've found that an error in one of the forms has prevented 'compact and repair' from working properly. Now what exactly what I mean by error I can't say..memory loss.

try exporting the forms out of it and then compact. then reimport the forms. You could try a bit of trial and error to see if you can find the one it had problems with..

..of course i could be wrong about it all..but that's the alley i'd stray up

Hi Irishjoe/Chaft/Remou

Irishjoe/Chaft ive tried both ways, i transfered and compacted/repaired each form one by one and found one or 2 errors but nothing major.

Remou How do you decompile.

Thanks,
Nim
