Showing settings no matter which computer

We have 1 server using Windows NT. We have 4 computers connected to it. They log into the domain on the server and when each one logs into their personal computer, it brings up all their icons on the desktop. Whenever they log into another computer that isn't theirs, their icons do not show up. Using Windows NT 4, is there a way we can set up the server to save all their desktop icons and etc...? Any help is greatly Appreciated. <3

The way to assure that user get there same desktop when logging onto any computer in your domain is to create a roaming user profile. You can find info on how to set this up on the web.

how much space do you think it would take? There are only 6 GB left on the server itself. 5 users. They use autocad and have a backup hard drive for saving files that everyone uses, already shared. If they were to save a couple of files on the desktop and wanna go to a different computer. How much space on the server hard drive would that take?

It would take up the same size, on the server, of the file that is placed on the desktop.

So when i was making users following the directions I found on this other website, it said to create and share a folder on the server, which I did. Then it said to go into Administrative Tools (Common) and set up a profile leading to that folder in the user profile path box using this format: Use the following format for the user profile path:
\\server_name\shared_folder_name\user_profile_folder_name
which for me would be:
\\JCW\Profiles\Test (i dunno if thats right, the right path is c:\profiles\test. Does it go into C: automatically?)
Whenever I log into that username on another computer that isn't the server, it gives me an error that says:
"Windows cannot create profile directory \\JCW\C\Profiles\Test.pds. You will be logged on with a local profile only. Changes to the profile will not be propigated to the server. Contact your network administrator."

ive tried with and without C. have any clue on what I did wrong?

UNC path \\JCW\Profiles\Test
JCW - should be the servername
Profiles - would be the sharename.

No, it does not go to C: automatically. To use the UNC path are required to created a share named profiles on a server called JCW. Then you would be able to connect to \\JCW\Profiles.
