Hello,

I would like to not have our outbound number show NOT up on outbound external calls. How is this blocked? We have a PRI circuit and I can control what number is pushed out vai the IP Office, (Nsi1234567890) but if I leave the entry blank, (N) calls do not go through. It seems I have to have some valid billing number pushed out to my PRI circuit provider. I would simply like to restict my number so it does not show up to outside callers

You need to put a W at the end of the dial shortcode :)

Sorry, I didn't read fully, if you need to send this info it will need to be the providor that does the withholding of the number or support you not sending one :)

You could try to send 1NsiW and see what happens.

yeah... trying to get the provider to restrict our outbound number. 1NsiW will not let a call go through, as soon as I put a valid billing number in, it works again. So nothing on my IPO end to do, except make sure I push out a valid billing number?

What I did was create a short code to dial *36 which restricts caller ID and it will show up on the other side as unavalible

if the line provider doesn't let you call out without sending a valid caller ID then that won't work either.

I don't suffer from insanity
I enjoy every moment of it :)

I snde valid caller ID it is blocked by the LEC using the *36. I sitll use the Sni. THe codes are diffrent from LEC to LEC

If you want not to send YOUR DID then send billed to number for your calls. If you want to remove sending BTN from all calls and be able to choose which valid did number to send then have telco remove BTN from all calls.

Well what I want to do, (and just so there is no confusion); have NO NUMBER show on the remote caller's phone. I have to send some sort of number to my LEC because if I don't, the CALL DOES NOT COMPLETE, because there is not a valid number to bill the call to.

I have asked this question and seen several different responses, the end answer is, it's up to the LEC to restrict your number. Right now we are using a bogus number to send out and the LEC is using that.

My LEC has done a trace and is sending on the info up the ladder for the in house switching gear to see what they can do. I believe they have Nortel equipt.

I can have the LEC instantaneously do this restriction for analog lines, but everytime I have had a PRI on the IPO, I have had troubles with the LEC restricting the number.

qtelcom, it is as easy as this, if you have to send a number the IP Office cannot control what is done with it after that. If the provider requests it then can't even remove it for you I would consider getting a new one, this is day one stuff on systems never mind being a line providor :)
