Hi - hoping for help...

I have account names in one column and their revenue for the last 365 days next to it, it is then rated (A,B,C,D) according to which quartile it falls into. next to that I have the revenue genrated by that account for 365 to 730 days.

How can I get crystal to calculate the quartile ratings for that year?

thanks,
Pete

How are you currently calculating quartile rankings - through formulas in SCR, or in your database? Malcolm

November is "be kind to dogs and programmers" month. Or is that "dogs or programmers"?

I have been using SCR formulas/subtotals for the claculation.

While calculating the previous year values could be done in formulas, I can't imagine how you could provide a previous year quartile ranking, unless you did this calculation in your database (ADO, view, stored procedure, or Crystal Query).

At the same time it would probably make sense to move your current quartile ranking calculation to the view/stored proc/etc as well, as the performance would be enhanced.

Not a simple solution - perhaps you can get your user to drop the requirement :) Malcolm

sadly i can't get the user to drop the specification.

thanks for your help, i'll give it a bash.
cheers,
pete.
