Show what incoming analog line is ringing

I have a site that needs to be able to know what line is ringing so they can answer with the correct Company name. For example someone dials 222-3333 which is lines 1 & 2, and they answer with ABC Company and then some dials 333-6666 which are lines 3 & 4 and they answer with Customer Service, etc.. I have given the lines their own ID but nothing comes up when I dial these lines just the usual CID info. time and date on the display of the 2420 digital set. What is the best way to set this up please. Thank you

Two ways to go:

- tag the incoming call routes.
- route the calls to separate huntgroups.

I'd personally go for option 2 because it also allows you to record different hold prompts and voicemail messages.

Thank I will try that. Is this the same method if they have a PRI? For example I might want to put in an IPO in an escort service that I have and they have about 400 different DID numbers that they use and each one is for a different ad, flyer, handout etc. The dispatch agent that answers needs to know what ad the caller is calling about and who to send the call to. They currently have a crappy 3rd party reseller VOIP system that goes down almost every night and they are loosing tons of business. So I thought a reliable IPO with a traditional 23 channel PRI would be best for them running on a back up UPS system.

Yes that would be somewhat the same, although a PRI would only have one line ID. In that case you would route based on DID (but that doesn't always work on analogue as that doesn't always show the dialled number. Line ID is a good alternative.).
