I have a form to journal everyday notes. I would like to open the form and when it open to display the * record first. The * is the record that will be added not the existing records.

Is there anyway to do that?

Your assistance will be helpfull.

Luis

You can set the form's data entry property to True, or you can open the form (DoCmd.OpenForm) in data entry mode.

Remou - Tried that data entry to "yes" but still when I add records the first record display is the sorted records not the blank record to be added. Hopefully, you follow what I'm asking. I'm trying to display the entry record (* in datasheet" first instead of last.

Any other suggestion. Really appreciated your collaboration.

Sorry, I had not quite got what you were saying. It is not possible to show:

*
1
2
3

only
1
2
3
*

There are work-arounds. One involves putting a row of unbound textboxes in the header of a continuous form (this can be made to look like a datasheet), another is to switch between dataentry and edit view using a command button.

101287(MIS - did you ever find a work around to this.. ii have the same issue..tring to have the blank (New *) record show 1st in the list not last or at the bottom.

Thanks,
Ivan

I've had an additional 4 clients (total of 7 now as of this year) who were adamant about this! Needless to say ... [blue]they all loved it![/blue]
