Can't remember how to envoke the function that shows an outline of an object while I'm dragging it around the page. It's simple, but then it seems that I am too!!
I used to have a function activated that showed an outline of the object while I left-clicked on it and dragged it somewhere. It let me "see" where it was going while I held down the left button. Once I released the button, the object was dropped right there.
I did an overly ambitious cleanup of the hard drive and lost my setup file for CorelDraw so it doesn't do that any more. If I knew what CorelDraw called that capability, then I could probably find it in the Help directory.
I made a post yesterday, but it didn't post. I looked at this problem too, and couldn't find anything. I think it is an intrinsic property of Corel. I couldn't find a way to turn it on or off.
The closest thing I found was the "Draw complex objects when moving or transforming" button, but it didn't seem to make much difference for me. IT is located on the property bar when just the Pick Tool is selected.
I would check your "text to path" tools, and see if it shows the preview of the text position as these properties seem somehow related (at least in my mind - maybe it is because they are both blue lines).
I messed with the interactive contour like Brushman suggested, but I couldn't see where it did anything other then create interactive countours.
I would try the F8 at startup since your profile is gone, or if you have already done that, try a repair install. It may have blown something out of the profile upon deletion.
On re-reading the post I think I have misunderstood the original question. My installation is that you can see the object when you move it, I'll see if I can see a setting which is causing your problem.
