Show Last Event Date Formula

Trying to work on a formula to show the last scheduled event with its result date nearest today's date.

If my database has the following entries for case C-SV-00011:

Case ID Caption Scheduled Event Result Date
C-SV-00011 Paul Vs Smith 44409 11/05/2002
C-SV-00011 Paul Vs Smith 44410 11/09/2002
C-SV-00011 Paul Vs Smith 21412 11/25/2002
C-SV-00011 Paul Vs Smith 57291 12/06/2002

Then I need the report to show me the below line as it’s the newest result date to today’s date in the database.
C-SV-00011 Paul Vs Smith 57291 12/06/2002

Anyone have any ideas?

Group by the Result Date column and place the fields in the group footer.

Do you want the LAST date, or the date nearest to today's date? In your sample data those are the same dates, but given another set of sample data that is not neccesarilty the same date.

If you want the last date, SVs solutin should work nicely. If not post again and we will come up wth a solution. Software Sales, Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Yes I need it to give me the event nearest to today's date and hide all the rest of the data lines.
