Hey,
Kind of a general question and just seeking some opinion. Currently running a GeForece 2 GTS II graphics card on WinXP Home SP1. When installing windows Microsoft installed the proper drivers for my card. Ndivia has released updated drivers for my Graphics chip, But Microsft has not signed them. Have people seen any problems with unsigned graphics drivers in XP, and would you suggest me updating mine.
Thank You,
George

George here, I am terribly Sorry for posting this question on this forum. I didnt not notice which forum I was in.
Sorry for the inconveince!
Thank You,
George

George,
Often times a vendor will update a driver after the release of a windows version, thus it wouldn't likely a Microsoft signature for it. Drivers from the vendor are in most all cases safe. For that matter, I can't think of a time when one wasn't. Go ahead and install the driver from NVIDA, and it will be fine. I updated mine just the other day from there myself.

Good luck, and Happy Computing

Hey,
Great, Thank You for your comment and time.
George!

Bottom line is, it costs companies time and money to have microsoft digitally sign every driver release of every hardware product they make.

So there is a benifit to not having them signed - it keeps the hardware prices down a bit, and it allows for quicker releases.
