I'm just getting started with Mysql, and wondering if I should try using one of the GUI's that are out there or just use the DOS Prompt (or I guess the correct name is the command line interpreter). I downloaded MySql Control Center but can find no manual or any documetation on it.

There's certainly a bunch of good tools for managing your databases using a GUI, such as those mentioned above, or phpmyadmin. If you're looking to write / save queries and generate reports, try the QLR manager at

the best GUI that I know to date is
SQLyog

not sure where to get it

Good luck,
Kuzz
