Shortcuts that work on CD's?

I haven't found a post or FAQ that comes close.

The problem is the "not knowing the directives" in the Shortcuts syntax that will allow me to specify a file in the same directory

All I get is the full path and drive and any simple edit is invalid. Isn't there a "%????" directive that implies look "here" (or up the tree not back to the root)?

That way I can put it on a CD and not worry that the drive letter is unknown at burn time.

TIA and apologies if it is boringly simple.

Not quite the ticket. The idea is to buck the file associations and use my version of the app. Which would be an IE 5.5 most likely.

If I had said "the app is proprietry" I think most of the tips using associations would have faded.

The advantage of my VB6 "start" type app is that I get to customise it with my own logo. I will just have to dig it out again.

Cresby;
Consider using PDFs?

PDF - That was first CD - where my "start" type VB6 was written. Same Problem - One user who could test it on Macs for me had Acrobat 3.0 without Java - - I wanted to force the use of a known version of Acrobat. Hence the need to unify the look and feel (and visibility) anyway the HTML pages are copies from the website - any changes only have to be done once .

My PDF problem there was that I tried and failed to get a dual boot disk with Acrobat (for Mac) V4.0 running on CD. It did perfectly on PC's. The friend said his Acrobat couldn't read Javscript and the same with his browseron my Website. Mac s/w - never goes wrong - eh? He will upgrade soon. I have looked at my site and changed a few things just in case.

BigJohnD I have a Welsh translation of FAQ's on cresby.com that is woeful - any suggestions as to how it could be improved? You would approve of my sartorial singularity.
