Need help. My shortcut toolbar (using Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000) shows my icons as "blue questions marks." How do I get them back to the regular icons (Word, Excel, Interet Explorer, etc.

See if the following will reset them...

Right-click and select Refresh icons

You will get different shortcut menus in different places on the toolbar, so right-click in a blank area (where your background color is visible, such as to the left of the first button).

That action only refreshs my ICONS on the desktop. The toolbar I'm talking about is my Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar that has my shortcuts to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

jacaly,

I, too, use Office 2000/Windows 2000, and I wasn't talking about right-clicking the main desktop area. Instead, right-click THE MICROSOFT OFFICE SHORTCUT TOOLBAR. But as I stated previously, it is picky about where you click on the toolbar in order to get the "Refresh Icons" option.

Unless it is due to all your shortcuts running from a network drive that can no longer be accessed, the "Refresh Icons" option will probably solve the problem.

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I have tried numerous times to "refresh" the shortcut bar -- pretty much have done it on every available area I could right click. No luck.

Not clear as to whether you are saying that...
(1) it doesn't give you the "Refresh Icons" option, or
(2) when you choose "Refresh Icons" it doesn't refresh

I get the option to refresh -- system doesn't refresh though.

I found those same articles in my research. The article regarding deleting shortcuts from one folder and copying shortcuts back from another folder didn't work. Actually I guess it didn't even apply in the first place since my question mark icons do launch the software. As for the second article about the Onstream being the problem, it is the problem. I uninstalled Onstream software and the icons magically appeared correctly. BUT I have to use the Onstream back-up so I had to reinstall the software -- the icons went right back to question marks. Guess I'll just have to live with them! Thanks for all your suggestions.

I am using Echo version 3.2 already as well as the latest drivers and still have the issue.

dcompto, ain't happenin' on this end. Some icons allow selecting new ones, but when new icons are selected, they still show up as question marks. The workaround link is one that you sent previously....this didn't work either. Basically, I'm SOL and will have to live with it. Thanks for all your help. Jacaly
