Does anyone know a shortcut key combo action to zoom in and out of the monitor, a Word doc or Browser view without using the mouse + KB?

I am already familar with one shortcut action:
(Mouse wheel + Ctrl key).

And then there's the multi KB stroke path that goes like
(Alt + V | Zoom... | tab to size view | tab to OK)
That's too many keys. Not exactly a shortcut.

I believe the shortcut I am trying to remember uses 2 or 3 keys and 1 is hit repeatedly to zoom in or out.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Already tried the online Help in Word 97. Not there.

Thanks, JAG1706

One way is to select the "View %" button on the toolbar and then: Hold down CTRL and ALT keys and press the UP ARROW to zoom in and the DOWN ARROW to zoom out.

Hi Dave, thanks for the quick reply.
Yeah, that is one way. Thanks. But it involves using the mouse to select the "view %" button on the toolbar.
(At least I can't think of a better way to select it)

I still feel there is another shortcut that is KB only.

Hi jag1706,

In Word, you can set a shortcut key to virtually anything.

Go to Tools > Customize...
Click on the Keyboard... button
Under Categories Select View
Under Commands Select ViewZoom
Put the cursor in the Press new shortcut key box
Press the shortcut you want to use.
Click on Assign
Click on Close (twice)

Now if you press the shortcut key combination you chose, the zoom percentage dropdown will be selected and you can use the up and down arrows to select the zoom you want and press <ENTER> for it to take effect.

I have a funny feeling there is an easier (and/or more sophisticated) way but I can't bring it to mind at the moment.

Enjoy,
Tony

For Word, in VBA to put in any size you want:

Sub MyView()
Dim intSize as Interger
intSize = InputBox("What Size?")
ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.Zoom.Percentage = intSize
end sub

Assign that to whatever keystroke (Ctrl-V excepted!) you want. Enter the size number on the input box and press enter. Word will size appropriately.

Hi Tony,
Well that's a new route for me. I think I may be programming a bunch of new shortcuts from now on. Thanks.

However, I still feel there is a global or system wide KB shortcut provided by Windows to zom in and out on the browser and Word and I think other windows.

Thanks, and still looking, Julian
